Am wary of bringing concerns to her because not sure if will be used against other teachers. Have not felt supported in past when gone to her for assistance. Sometimes she cuts people off saying, "heard", which feels disrespectful and dismissive. Have not seen cultivation of talented and hardworking staff that would make them stay at Deal. There has been high turnover year-to-year.

I honestly dread coming to work, environment is hectic, chaotic, and highly stressful. Although I obtained a job approximately a month ago, I am rethinking my decision to stay until the end of the year as I am emotionally burnt out and unmotivated. Academically we have some great teachers, I strongly believe they are meeting the needs of students. Administratively, the school culture presents as overly submissive to parents often email principal as a mean of "getting you in trouble if they can't have their way. Academically, school culture can be stronger if counselor had more face time with the students and a voice in creating school culture, and

Lack of a technology policy or follow through on creating one. Can be cryptic and hard to read in conversations about school issues. Asks teachers to report on one another which breeds distrust. Does not consistently follow through on behavior policies that are instituted at the BOY

Principal is not open to other perspectives; It is a fairly large school there are minimal opportunities for staff to interact outside of team meetings, staff meetings and work its self

Ms. Neal is an amazing leader and Deal wouldn't be Deal without her!!!

There is a huge lack of resources (including confidential space to to meet with students in the school. Principal is ambivalent to look at self and often criticize and deflect blame upon me or team members when concerns are verbalized. This will be my 10th year of licensure, and I have never been as disrespected in my career as I have been while working with this principal. I have worked at this school for a little under 10 month, principal has never asked about career aspirations or taken time to know me as a person.
